I’m John Grice, a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant and the founder of Patriot Canine Academy. I bring more than 25 years of military and federal K9 experience to helping dogs and their families.

Working alongside dogs and teaching their handlers has shaped my approach: build trust, communicate clearly, and stay consistent. Every dog is different, and effective training starts with understanding the dog in front of you.

I founded Patriot Canine Academy to bring that experience to family dogs and the people who love them. My focus is on practical skills that make everyday life easier—from calmer walks to better manners at home—and helping you feel confident guiding your dog long after a training session ends.
